Scottish researchers have recently launched a special mobile application that promises to help doctors in this country detect early symptoms of the terrible cancer.

A new mobile application called Cancer Referral Guidelines, which provides guidance on suspected cancer symptoms, has been launched by the Scottish Government. The application was developed by the Scottish Technology Centre, based at the University of the West of Scotland. The application is currently available for free on both Android and iOS platforms.

According to the BBC, the application will help provide quick reference guides for medical professionals on information on symptoms, signs and identification images of cancer.

When in Wi-Fi areas, the app will allow for constant updates of the latest cancer information. In addition, users can easily use it offline at any time.

“The app has been developed in partnership with health professionals and patients, and is a quick and easy way for doctors, pharmacists and nurses to quickly access information about suspected cancer symptoms,” said Scotland’s health minister, Shona Robison.

“Early diagnosis and treatment of cancer will lead to better outcomes and increased survival. Improving the number of patients diagnosed with cancer at an early stage will also reduce deaths and have a positive impact on overall life expectancy,” Robison added.

"The app will give us quick access to information that supports clinical diagnosis and decision making," said Dr Douglas Rigg, an anesthesiologist involved in the app's development.

Mobile devices have become an indispensable part of life, and it would be great if people knew how to turn the benefits of mobile devices to serve human life, especially in areas related to human life.
