Therefore, to support the output of potential agricultural products such as Hai Duong lychee, this agency coordinated with the Department of Industry and Trade and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hai Duong province to train businesses and growers on traceability, procedures for opening and participating in booths on the 4 online markets mentioned above.
In 2020, Hai Duong lychee output reached 43,000 tons, half of which was consumed domestically and the rest was exported. Of this, about 1,600 tons of Hai Duong lychee were exported to demanding markets such as Japan, Australia, and the US. This figure increased by 1,000 tons compared to 2019.
In the 2021 lychee crop, Hai Duong has over 9,100 hectares of lychee with an estimated output of about 55,000 tons. Half of the lychee output will be exported to China, 5-7% to the US, Japan, and Australia, the rest will be consumed domestically and for processing.
