Transporting heroin from Laos to the North, young man sentenced to life in prison
(Baonghean.vn) - Ha Ba Denh (Ky Son), an important link in the illegal drug trafficking ring from Laos to Ky Son district and then selling it in the northern provinces, was arrested with 2 heroin cakes.
On June 8, the People's Court of Nghe An province brought defendant Ha Ba Denh (born 1989), residing in Pu Quac 2 village, Na Ngoi commune (Ky Son) for the crime of "Illegal drug trafficking".

According to the defendant's statement, Denh had previously known a man named Nhuong, residing in Hoa Binh town, Tuong Duong district (Nghe An).
On February 27, 2020, Nhuong called Denh and offered to buy 2 cakes of heroin for 260 million VND.
On the morning of February 29, 2020, Ha Ba Denh called Lau Ba Khu (a Laotian) to ask to buy the goods. Khu agreed to sell 2 cakes for 240 million VND. Denh promised to pay Khu when he finished selling. As soon as he had the goods, Denh called Nhuong to arrange delivery at 3:00 p.m. the same day.

At around 3:00 p.m. on February 29, 2020, Denh drove his motorbike to Ca Noi village, Na Ngoi commune (Ky Son) to pick up the goods. As soon as he received the goods, Denh went towards Khe Nan village, Chieu Luu commune to deliver the goods to Nhuong.
At around 7:00 p.m. the same day, Ha Ba Denh met Nhuong at the delivery location on National Highway 7A from Tuong Duong district to Anh Son district. While preparing to deliver the goods, he was caught red-handed by the Dien Chau District Police Working Group and 2 cakes of white powder were confiscated.
Through examination, it was determined that inside were 2 heroin cakes with a total weight of 700 grams. At the police investigation agency, Denh confessed his actions. As for Nhuong, he escaped. When we catch him, we will investigate and deal with him later.
Considering that Ha Ba Denh also has mitigating circumstances such as having achievements in the fight against crime as confirmed by the Nam Can International Border Guard Station.
The panel of judges decided, based on aggravating and mitigating circumstances, to sentence Ha Ba Denh to life in prison for the crime of "Illegal drug trafficking".
