Waterless toilets on Eye Island

(Baonghean.vn) - On June 14, at the Mat Island Mixed Battalion under the Nghe An Provincial Military Command, the research team deployed the assembly and operation of a toilet using Dry Bio - Toilet technology.

The topic group "Research and application of Dry Bio - Toilet technology to build a waterless toilet model at the Mat Island Mixed Battalion - Nghe An Provincial Military Command" led by Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Minh - Head of Military Science Department, Provincial Military Command, is implementing the assembly and operation of toilets using Dry Bio Toilet technology (waterless toilets). This is a provincial-level topic, chaired by the Provincial Military Command, the Department of Science and Technology of Nghe An province is the management agency.

Mat Island has an important strategic position in terms of national defense. In recent years, with the attention of the province and the Provincial Military Command, the spiritual life of officers and soldiers on the island has been gradually improved. However, at present, officers and soldiers on the island still face difficulties and shortages in their daily lives, especially the lack of fresh water, no electricity, and especially the work of ensuring environmental sanitation.

On the island, there are many concentrated military positions, only the command position has a small-scale septic tank, other positions have 2-compartment toilets that affect the environment, especially in the hot, dry season.

To solve the problem of environmental pollution, in conditions of water scarcity, lack of electricity, lack of drainage system and difficult terrain for building septic tanks, Bio - Dry Toilet technology is an appropriate solution for the above problems.
