During the team's final training session before leaving for the Philippines, Vietnam team doctor Tran Anh Tuan shared: "After a clinical examination, MRI scan and some other tests, we concluded that Van Toan suffered a hamstring injury and a grade 1 meniscus ligament sprain."

"The current treatment direction is protection, injections, physical therapy and rehabilitation for Toan. It is expected that this player can return soon. If progress is good, Van Toan will likely be able to participate in the second leg of the semi-final," added Mr. Tran Anh Tuan.
However, Van Toan will stay in Vietnam to treat his injury and not go to the Philippines with the Vietnam national team.
