Take drastic measures to prevent Covid-19 from re-emerging in Ky Son

On the afternoon of August 6, a working delegation of the Provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, including Mr. Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh - Director of the Department of Health and representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, inspected the concentrated quarantine areas in Nghe An.Ky Son.

During the working session, the delegation inspected, visited and encouraged the epidemic prevention and control forces on duty at thequarantine areaChieu Luu Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities,Chieu Luu communeKy Son district.

Previously, Chieu Luu Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities was a centralized quarantine area for F1 cases related to the outbreak in La Ngan and Luu Tien villages. After these F1s finished their quarantine period, this boarding school continued to be used to quarantine 13 citizens returning from the epidemic area, including 1 new F1.

Speaking to the working delegation, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ky Son district Nguyen Huu Minh said: There are nearly 18,000 people living and working in other provinces in the area, of which more than 10,000 people want to return to their locality. Since the fourth outbreak (April 27) to date, Ky Son has had nearly 2,900 citizens return to their locality. All returning citizens have had their health declared, rapid antigen tests performed and been quarantined at 47 kindergartens and boarding schools in the area. At the same time, the district has also actively directed localities to do a good job of ensuring security and order in quarantine areas. At the same time, it has stepped up propaganda work, calling on organizations and individuals to participate in supporting rice and necessities for concentrated quarantine areas, so that people can feel secure in implementing quarantine to prevent and control the epidemic.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long acknowledged and highly appreciated the participation of the entire political system of Ky Son district in epidemic prevention and control; however, given the complicated developments of the epidemic in the locality, especially the number of workers returning to the locality continues to increase, Ky Son district must not be negligent or subjective; it is necessary to be proactive and determined in preventing and controlling the epidemic; promote well the "4 on-site" in epidemic prevention and control; step up screening, promptly detect and grasp cases returning from epidemic areas without declaration, and promptly quarantine.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: Ky Son district needs to ensure food for people in the quarantine area, the province is ready to continue supporting Ky Son district. The entire political system continues to take drastic action to prevent the epidemic from breaking out again in the area.
