After nearly a week of returning to Vietnam, and being reunited with their maternal families, Vietnamese couples, Korean husbands and their children whose maternal hometowns are in the northern provinces had a meeting in Hanoi. Here, they met and shared with the President of the Korean Women's Foundation Lee Hye Gyeong, Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Kim Do Hyeon and representatives of the Korean Cultural Center, the Vietnam Women's Union, etc.
Ms. Dinh Thi Mui (Korean name Kim Mi Hwa), from Ninh Binh, 39 years old, said: “Thanks to this program, our family was able to reunite for the first time after 8 years apart. My children were able to directly prepare and enjoy Vietnamese dishes, and they also experienced the culture with their relatives. In particular, my husband and I received the care and attention of my wife's family. This made my husband feel very happy and joyful. My husband understands Vietnamese culture and loves Vietnam more. All difficulties and conflicts in family life will be shortened.”
Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, 28 years old, from Quang Yen, Quang Ninh is one of the Vietnamese brides who have integrated well into Korean society. Originally a high school teacher in her home province, since following her husband to Seoul 9 years ago, she has studied Korean and is now a Vietnamese teacher for students in Korea. She said: “This job is interesting and pays well. The only regret is that my two children have few opportunities to speak Vietnamese. They can only say a few simple greetings.”
