In the past, our ancestors used rice flour mixed with black sesame. However, due to consumer demand, Vinh Duc people later added ginger, pepper, and crushed garlic, mixed in the right proportions into the rice flour for coating. That is the village's "secret" to the craft so that the product can stand firm in the market. Photo: Sy Minh

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thao, owner of a nearly 20-year-old peanut candy and rice paper production facility, said: To have a batch of delicious candy, first of all, the input materials must be carefully selected, especially peanuts, which must be sifted to remove all the seeds that are dry, those with dark skins, and those at risk of mold... And only workers with 5 years or more of experience can be the main chef to cook peanut candy. Because in this profession, experience and dedication create the product brand. Photo: Sy Minh
Molasses is very important for making peanut candy. You must choose bright yellow molasses with a certain viscosity. Only take the top half of the jar, not the bottom. In particular, the craftsman must also know whether the molasses is drawn from dead, diseased, or aphid-infested sugarcane... Because if the molasses is drawn from aphids-infested sugarcane, the molasses will definitely be too sweet, making the peanut candy taste bad. Photo: Sy Minh
Currently, Vinh Duc peanut candy village creates jobs for more than 400 regular and seasonal workers. Each regular worker has an income of around 3 million VND/person/month. Photo: Sy Minh
