The 17th Congress of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term officially opened on the morning of October 28. Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan - Politburo member, on behalf of the Politburo, attended and directed the Congress.

After more than a week of focusing on overcoming the consequences of floods, the Party CongressQuang Binh provinceThe 17th Congress was shortened from 3 days to 1 day. The Congress also reduced the number of participants; canceled cultural and artistic activities to celebrate the Congress; and did not organize live television during the Congress days. At the Congress, 347 delegates representing 75,000 Party members in the province contributed to support people affected by natural disasters, helping people overcome the consequences of floods and storms, stabilizing their lives and production.
With the theme "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Creativity - Development", the 17th Quang Binh Provincial Party Congress focused on discussing and contributing ideas to draft documents submitted to the 13th National Party Congress, and contributing ideas to draft action programs to implement the Resolution of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025.
The congress will also discuss in depth solutions to overcome the consequences of the floods, quickly stabilize people's lives, restore production and business activities after the floods; build a system of fundamental and methodical solutions to prevent and respond to the impacts of natural disasters, storms and floods in the context of climate change.
The 17th Quang Binh Provincial Party Congress set out 4 main target groups, 6 key task groups and 6 solution groups to be implemented in the next 5 years.
Speaking at the opening of the Congress, Mr. Vu Dai Thang - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee emphasized: "The 17th Quang Binh Provincial Party Congress is a Congress that demonstrates the strong will and aspiration of the entire Party Committee, armed forces and people of the province. The Congress has chosen the theme "Strengthening the building of a clean and strong Party Committee; ensuring national defense and security; promoting the strength of great national unity; innovating, mobilizing all resources, proactively integrating internationally; striving to make Quang Binh a fairly developed province in the North Central region. This is a great expectation of the Party Committee and people of the whole province, and also the desire of the Central Committee, of compatriots and comrades nationwide for Quang Binh"./.
