Viet Huong has handed over the car and documents to Mr. Doan Ngoc Hai. |
"After more than 3 months of waiting, the car was finally delivered to Vietnam. My husband and I were eagerly waiting to give it to Mr. Hai as promised. Looking at the shiny car, we couldn't help but be moved and proud. This is also the first automatic ambulance in Vietnam, helping Mr. Hai's volunteer journey less arduous," she shared.
According to Viet Huong, the car was initially estimated to cost 1.7 billion VND. However, because they wanted to buy a specialized car imported from the US, the price increased to more than 2.5 billion VND. Although the cost increased a lot, the couple still tried to make up for it instead of asking for more donations.
Mr. Doan Ngoc Hai's old ambulance was also bought by a unit. He used all the money for charity.
The car continues to do its job as before, which is to transport martyrs' remains, take sick children home, transport milk and meat to poor children in remote areas... However, during the epidemic, Viet Huong said that Mr. Doan Ngoc Hai will make changes to suit the situation.
During the outbreak of the epidemic in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Huong and her husband were also active in helping the community. Every day, she and her husband gave hundreds of gifts including 5 kg of rice, eggs, fish sauce... to many people in isolated and locked down areas.

"The epidemic will make the poor suffer even more. We are lucky to have stable circumstances, so we want to join hands to share with everyone. "A penny of wealth, a pound of work", the material things are not worth much, but the spiritual meaning is so we hope to spread some of it to the people", the female artist shared.
When Ho Chi Minh City ordered a two-week social distancing, Viet Huong and her husband encouraged each other to continue to make efforts. Her family imported an additional 14 tons of rice and necessities to serve the people's supply work in the coming days.
