As a coastal state in the East Sea and a member of the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, Vietnam has sovereignty, sovereign rights and jurisdiction in its maritime zones established in accordance with the Convention and also enjoys other legitimate rights at sea in accordance with the provisions of the Convention.
Vietnam rejects this unilateral decision by China. In the current international and regional context, Vietnam requests that China not further complicate the situation in the East Sea./.
