Vietnam moves up 3 places on world beauty rankings

The achievements of Lan Khue and Thuy Van in two international beauty contests helped Vietnam rise in the world beauty arena.

In 2015, Vietnam was considered successful in sending many excellent representatives to beauty contests. While Pham Huong attracted media attention, Thuy Van won the 3rd runner-up position in the Miss International contest and Lan Khue was in the Top 11 of Miss World. Thanks to that, Vietnam moved up three places, from 34th to 31st.

Vietnam earned 18.32 points in the Grand Slam scoring system. Of these, 8.52 points came from the Miss World pageant, 1.2 points from Miss Universe, 5.4 points from Miss Supranational and 3.1 points from Miss International.

Venezuela leads the rankings with 103 points, including 34.4 points for Edymar Martinez's Miss International 2015 crown. Although not achieving high results in the two most prestigious competitions, the representative of the "Miss pageant training center" is still highly appreciated in Miss World (20.4 points) and Miss Universe (40.8 points).

The Philippines moved up one spot to second place on the list thanks to the success of Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach. Puerto Rico fell to third place with 71 points. The list of the top 10 countries in beauty pageants also includes Mexico, the United States, Brazil, Colombia, Australia, Spain, and India.

Since 2003, Global Beauties has been publishing the Grand Slam rankings to evaluate the success of countries and territories at the five most prestigious pageants in the world: Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss International, Miss Grand International and Miss Supranation.
