Vietnam exports fruits and vegetables for 13 million USD per day near Tet
On average, in January 2018, Vietnam exported about 13 million USD worth of fruits and vegetables every day and spent nearly 6 million USD per day to import fruits and vegetables.

Updated data from the General Department of Customs shows that January 2018 is also the month near the Lunar New Year, Vietnam has strongly increased the export and import of vegetables and fruits.
Specifically, in terms of export, the export value of fruits and vegetables in January reached nearly 384 million USD, up 18% over the previous month and up 63% over the same period last year.
China, Japan, the US and South Korea remained the top four markets for importing Vietnamese fruits and vegetables last month. The Chinese market alone consumed 269 million USD worth of Vietnamese fruits and vegetables; the US 11 million USD; Japan 10 million USD; South Korea 6.9 million USD...
Regarding imports, last month, the country imported fruits and vegetables worth 167 million USD, up 22% over the previous month and up 72.5% over the same period in 2017.
Among the markets from which Vietnam imported many fruits and vegetables in January 2018, Thailand was the leader with a turnover value of more than 73 million USD. Next was China in second place with a turnover value of nearly 39 million USD; the US in third place with 18 million USD; and other markets such as:Australia 5.9 million USD; Myanmar 4.2 million USD; South Korea 3.6 million USD; New Zealand 3 million USD; South Africa 2.8 million USD...
Thus, on average, Vietnam exports about 13 million USD worth of fruits and vegetables every day and also spends nearly 6 million USD per day to import fruits and vegetables from abroad to the domestic market./.
