After receiving her diploma, Lo Thi TH sent her application to many agencies but had no job. Around September 2015, through an acquaintance of her eldest daughter, a person named NTNA contacted her and promised to "get" a job for Lo Thi TH.

NTNA claimed to be a teacher at a middle school in the city, and had an acquaintance who was the younger brother of a city leader, so Mr. Lo Van Minh and his wife were like “a drowning man clutching at straws”, completely trusting him. They gathered all their savings, borrowed from relatives, and then gave NTNA a total of 90 million VND (total cost was 180 million VND) for the subject to help their child get into a branch-level unit located in the city.

According to the subject's promise, Lo Thi TH will have a decision by the end of 2015. However, until now there has been no information. The couple has repeatedly asked NTNA to return the money but the subject kept delaying. As a last resort, Mr. Minh and Mrs. Hoa had to file a complaint.
