Nghe An Martial Arts summarizes activities in 2018: Facing challenges

The total number of Executive Committee members for the 2013-2018 term has decreased from 13 to 10 comrades currently working at agencies, departments and enterprises in Vinh city. Total number of martial arts clubs: 68 clubs of various disciplines. Of which: 27 Traditional clubs, 29 Karatedo clubs, 8 Taekwondo clubs, 2 Boxing clubs, 2 Kick-Boxing clubs. The total number of members of the Federation is currently about 300 members.

According to statistics, there are currently about 60 clubs operating regularly with about 2,000 martial arts students in 18/21 districts, towns and cities maintaining martial arts training, mainly Karatedo. Traditional martial arts clubs are concentrated in districts such as Dien Chau, Nam Dan, Do Luong, Nghia Dan, Anh Son, Yen Thanh, Quynh Luu, Hung Nguyen, Tan Ky...

Looking back at 2018, Nghe An Martial Arts Federation organized 2 Championships: Nghe An Provincial Traditional Martial Arts Open Championship - Quang Trung Emperor Cup and Nghe An Provincial Karatedo Championship.

In terms of high achievements, in 2019, the Provincial Sports Training Center had 6 disciplines, with more than 100 athletes practicing. Of which, Taekwondo and Karatedo won many titles at national youth tournaments, student tournaments or Club Cup championships.

However, in terms of expertise, the Federation is still subject to overlapping management between other social organizations in the province. And most importantly, the funding to support tournament organization and participation is unstable, ensuring the Federation and clubs operate.

At the summary meeting, with the consensus and active support in terms of mechanism and orientation from the Department of Culture & Sports, Nghe An Martial Arts Federation determined the pioneering task of promoting and widely developing the movement of practicing martial arts in the area, especially among young people and in schools.

From there, coordinate with relevant departments to unify activities, promote the socialization of investment resources. Specifically, in May, the Federation will organize the Nghe An Provincial Traditional Martial Arts Championship, organize the Nghe An Provincial Karate Championship 2019 and inspect the activities of martial arts clubs in the area.

In particular, the Federation also proposed to include the Provincial Traditional Martial Arts Championship in the annual Sen Village Festival of the province, held annually from May 15 to May 19.

Representatives of the leaders of Nghe An province's Department of Culture and Sports also pledged to coordinate with units and agencies in districts, cities and towns to pay attention and create favorable conditions to help martial arts clubs develop to their full potential./.

"The characteristics of martial arts are suitable for the people of Nghe An, which is the condition and foundation for Nghe An athletes to achieve high results in the international arena. All sports need those qualities, but martial arts especially need them more, because martial arts require perseverance, great effort, and a courageous spirit.

Regarding human resources, Nghe An has potential, but the facilities are not commensurate. All training facilities are very lacking."
