Doctor kills wife in Cao Bang: Body found in China suspected to be victim

Major General Nguyen Ngoc Toan - Director of Cao Bang Provincial Police on the afternoon of October 6 informed reporters: The unit has sent a working group to China to verify and collect DNA samples of a female body suspected to be Ms. Dang Thi H. (the wife murdered by Trieu Van Hai on August 30) found by Chinese police.

According to initial information, on September 27, Chinese police discovered a woman's body in the river in Phu Tuy district, Chong Zuo city (Guangxi).

On October 2, Cao Bang Provincial Police received information that the body of a woman suspected to be Ms. H. had been found in China. On October 4, the Provincial Police took Ms. H.'s parents and relatives to China to identify the body and some jewelry and take DNA samples.

"The body found is female, died about 1 month ago, initial identification shows many signs matching Ms. Dang Thi H. However, we still have to wait for DNA test results and reports from the working group," Major General Nguyen Ngoc Toan informed.

Previously, on August 31, the Investigation Police Agency, Cao Bang Provincial Police received a report of a murder case that occurred at Group 13, Song Hien Ward (Cao Bang City). Trieu Van Hai was the main suspect.

The suspect was arrested at a motel on Tran Duy Hung Street, Hanoi.

At the police station, Hai confessed: On the afternoon of August 30, Hai and his wife argued and fought, and in a fit of anger, the suspect strangled his wife, Dang Thi H., to death. After committing the crime, Hai sat down and wrote a letter stating the reason, then stuffed the victim's body in a sack, dumped it in the river, and fled.
