Wenger banned from four matches for pushing referee
The English Football Association (FA) on January 27 announced a heavy disciplinary penalty for the Arsenal coach for his inappropriate behavior towards the referee in the match against Burnley on Sunday, January 22.
According to the FA announcement, Arsene Wenger will have to serve the punishment today when Arsenal play the FA Cup against Southampton. He is also not allowed to manage the next three Premier League matches, when Arsenal will play difficult opponents Watford, Chelsea and Hull. The French coach also has to pay a fine of 31,500 dollars.
Wenger's four-match ban and fine were handed down by an independent panel, and the FA is only obliged to inform them. Arsenal have said they will not appeal.

The penalty for Wenger will cause Arsenal great damage when they return to competition, especially in the Premier League. |
Wenger himself accepted the FA's charge of misconduct earlier this week and apologised for the incident he caused at the end of Arsenal's 2-1 win over Burnley.
During the match at Emirates Stadium, the Arsenal manager lost his temper and reacted angrily when Burnley were awarded a penalty in the 93rd minute, thereby equalizing the score 1-1. Referee Jon Moss therefore decided to send Wenger to the stands.
But he still tried to stay near the entrance to the Emirates tunnel to watch the remaining minutes of the match. The fourth official Taylor was forced to ask Wenger to leave the pitch. The French coach still refused to leave the field, pushing Taylor twice.
Arsenal eventually won 2-1 thanks to a penalty in the eighth minute of injury time, thanks to Alexis Sanchez. Before that, the "Gunners" had to play with one less man when Granit Xhaka was red carded for a two-footed tackle. This victory helped Arsenal rise to second place in the table, eight points behind Chelsea after 22 rounds.
