Nghi Duc Commune (Vinh City) receives Certificate of recognition for meeting New Rural standards

((Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 27, the Party Committee and people of Nghi Duc commune (Vinh city) held a ceremony to receive the Certificate of recognition for achieving national standards on New Rural Areas in 2016.

Comrade Vo Viet Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of Vinh City Party Committee; Comrade Tran Van Mao - Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation attended. As a purely agricultural commune, merged into Vinh city in 2008, despite having a low starting point, thanks to the efforts of the political system and the support of the people, Nghi Duc commune completed the task of reaching the NTM finish line nearly 2 years early.

Within nearly 6 years, thanks to the integration and good mobilization of people's strength, the commune invested a total of nearly 75 billion VND to carry out 29 projects and items for 19/19 criteria. To develop the economy and increase income, people in the commune have invested tens of billions of VND to change the structure of crops and livestock, and develop models of farms and ranches.

Thanks to that, Nghi Duc commune has now basically upgraded essential infrastructure such as schools, clinics, electricity, offices and cultural centers of the commune, and cultural institutions of villages. Along with preserving cultural identity and developing traditional industries with strengths, Nghi Duc has boldly shifted the economic structure towards gradually increasing the proportion of construction, trade and services.

Comrade Vo Viet Thanh - Secretary of Vinh City Party Committee and comrade Tran Van Mao awarded the Certificate of recognition of achieving NTM standards and a finishing prize worth 500 million VND to the leaders of Nghi Duc commune.

Speaking at the ceremony to receive the Certificate of recognition of meeting the new rural standards of Nghi Duc commune, comrade Tran Van Mao - Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, on behalf of the provincial leaders, warmly congratulated the Party Committee and people of Nghi Duc commune.Nghi Duc commune people; he hopes that in the coming time, the commune will continue to strive to further improve the quality of criteria, have a plan to transform the economic structure, improve people's lives, proactively exploit suburban advantages for development, strive to soon become a model new-style rural commune and the urban center of Vinh city in the future.

At the ceremony, the Provincial People's Committee awarded the Certificate of Recognition for meeting the New Rural Standards in 2016 and the 500 million VND prize from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to Nghi Duc commune. On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee also announced and awarded Certificates of Merit to collectives and individuals of Nghi Duc commune with outstanding achievements in the movement of joining hands to build the New Rural Standards in the period 2011-2016./.
