Previously, at 1:00 a.m. on February 17, 2019, at the area of Cau Tau 2 bridge, km 79 of National Highway 8A, in Son Kim 1 commune, Huong Son district (Ha Tinh), the Department of Drug Crime Investigation, Ministry of Public Security (C04), the Department of Drug Crime Investigation, Ha Tinh Police in coordination with the Ha Tinh Border Guard arrested Vangchueyang Briachear (born in 1994, residing in Vang Ban village, Xay Cham Phon district, Bolykhamxay province, Laos) traveling in a 9-seat tourist car with Lao license plate UN - 2645, Hyundai brand, transporting a huge amount of drugs.
Checking the scene, the authorities seized 12 blue sacks, inside were 278 plastic packages, containing 294 kg of synthetic drugs in rock form.
At the investigation agency, Vangchueyang Briachear confessed that on February 16, 2019, he received an order to supervise and transport the above drugs from a Lao man in Cam Cot district, Bolikhamxay province (Laos).
Vangchueyang Briachear and a man entered Vietnam in a 9-seat tourist car with Lao license plate UN - 2645, then rented a motel in Tay Son town, Huong Son district (Ha Tinh).
By 1:00 a.m. on February 17, the drugs had been brought to Vietnam and were placed on the side of National Highway 8A, in Ha Trai village, Son Kim 1 commune, Huong Son district.
He then went to receive the goods and was arrested by the authorities during the transportation process. Due to the night, rugged mountainous terrain, and dense fog, a male subject accompanying Vangchueyang Briachear fled into the forest to escape.
The case is being urgently investigated by the special task force.
