Setting a record of 1,000 people registering to donate organs and tissues

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Phuc - Deputy Director of the National Coordination Center for Human Organ Transplantation (Ministry of Health) said that the results of organ donation registration during the "Joining Hands for Life 2015" festival set a record with more than 1,000 people registering to donate tissues and organs.

The information was given at the "Joining hands for life" festival to donate tissues and organs for the purpose of curing patients and donating bodies for medical purposes, organized by the Ministry of Health on the morning of December 19 in Hanoi.

At the end of the program, the organizing committee registered to set a Vietnamese record during the festival by setting a target of having 1,000 people directly register to donate tissues and organs after death or brain death with the witness, supervision and confirmation of representatives of the Vietnam Record Book Center.

According to Mr. Phuc, the goal of the festival is 1,000 applications. By noon on December 19, the representative of Vietnam Records confirmed that 1,417 people had written applications to register to donate tissues and organs after death or brain death.

The record has contributed to lighting up hope for tens of thousands of unfortunate people with organ failure who are anxiously waiting for life sharing from their compatriots.

The festival organizers expect about 10,000 people to participate in festival activities.

The program included the signing of a voluntary petition to donate organs and tissues after death or brain death for the humanitarian purpose of saving lives. Also attending the program were representatives of patients with organ failure.

At the festival, there are many entertainment activities such as folk games, street theater, culinary camp... Also here, young people are consulted and educated by medical experts to better understand the humanitarian purpose of registering to donate tissues and organs after death or brain death./.
