PV: Congratulations on being elected as one of the 496 National Assembly delegates. Could you tell us how you feel about the trust of Nghe An province voters?

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hien:I am extremely happy and touched by the affection and trust of the voters of my province. This is an honor and pride, but above all, I am aware of my responsibility as a representative of the people and promise myself to always strive to perform well the functions of a National Assembly delegate, representing the will and aspirations of voters and people.

PV: So during your time meeting voters to campaign for election, what issues did you see voters care about the most?

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hien:During my time participating in contacting voters to campaign for election, I had the opportunity to meet, discuss and listen to many heartfelt opinions of voters sent to the National Assembly and relevant agencies. Voters hope that the elected National Assembly Deputies need to do a good job of grasping the thoughts, aspirations, and practical situations at the grassroots level and reflect them to the National Assembly forum, strengthen supervision activities on socio-economic, national defense and security issues of the country and have a high sense of responsibility in deciding important issues of the country and the locality.

Voters are very interested in building and effectively implementing economic development policies associated with national security and defense; issues of sea and island sovereignty; social security policies; issues of agriculture, rural areas, farmers; environmental issues, food hygiene and safety, administrative reform, solutions to prevent corruption and waste, etc.

Along with those issues, voters of Dien Chau, Nghi Loc, and Cua Lo districts are very interested in developing the marine economy in conjunction with tourism development, national security and defense, and sovereignty over sea and islands, etc., building investment policies, supporting the development of fisheries, offshore fishing, upgrading fishing logistics areas, and policies for developing sea and island tourism.

PV: What are your thoughts and plans before the upcoming first session of the National Assembly?

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hien:Like those who have just been elected to the National Assembly, the first thing they think about is how they themselves must act to not disappoint the trust and confidence of voters.Therefore, I myself have to build a mindset and working style of a delegate to carry out well the contents of the meeting.
