Chinese pickup truck priced at 17,000 USD, copying Ford Ranger and Explorer designs
The Hongta T340 pickup truck model has just been launched by the Chinese automaker FAW with a price of nearly 17,000 USD. It has many similarities to the Ford Ranger, while the front of the car is quite similar to the Explorer.
In recent years, a number of Chinese car brands have continuously launched models with quite attractive prices, but most of the design details are copied from famous car brands in the world.
After the Zotye SR8 copied the Porsche Macan design, the T800 copied the Range Rover Sport design or the Traum model codenamed MA501 by Zotye "exactly copied" the Mazda CX-4... Recently, it was FAW's turn to launch the Hongta T340 pickup truck with many features quite similar to the Ranger and Explorer models of Ford.

In the Chinese market, FAW distributes 8 different versions of the Hongta T340 with prices ranging from 16,760 - 21,310 USD, equivalent to 381 - 485 million VND. All use a 2.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine, producing 127 horsepower, 320 Nm of torque combined with a 6-speed manual transmission. Some versions of the Hongta T340 are also equipped with a 4-wheel drive system.

The exterior of the FAW Hongta T340 has many lines copied from Ford models. At the front of the car, the grille and headlights of this “made in China” pickup truck are quite similar to the Ford Explorer SUV. In particular, if viewed from the side, many people will mistake this model for the Ranger, when the wheel wells, roof, footrests or wheel design... seem to be copied from the Ford pickup model.
In China, FAW Hongta T340 is distributed in 8 different versions. |
According to Autohome, the FAW Hongta T340 has a fairly large body size with a length of up to 5,640 mm, a wheelbase of 3,405 mm. All versions are equipped with 265/65 R17 tires, with a ground clearance of 210 mm.
