Pickup truck transports 71 bamboo rats of unknown origin in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - On July 27, the Traffic Police Team of Quy Chau District Police arrested Tran Quang Anh (Moi Hamlet, Tri Le Commune, Que Phong) for transporting 71 bamboo rats of unknown origin.
At around 6:00 a.m. on July 27, at Km 101 of National Highway 48, through Chau Thang Commune, Quy Chau District, the patrol and control team of the Traffic Police of Quy Chau District Police noticed a pickup truck with license plate 37C - 24684, driven by Tran Quang Anh (born in 1989, Moi Hamlet, Tri Le Commune, Que Phong, Nghe An) carrying 5 sacks of cargo in the back of the truck, showing many suspicious signs.

The patrol team signaled the vehicle to stop for inspection and discovered 71 bamboo rats, a wild animal, in 5 sacks. Checking the bamboo rats in the sacks, there were 57 living bamboo rats locked in iron cages, with a total weight of about 22.8 kg and 14 bamboo rats were dead.

The working group asked Tran Quang Anh to present relevant documents, but he could not prove that the documents were valid. According to him, the rats were purchased from many people in Que Phong district and were on their way to restaurants.
Currently, the case has been handed over to the Quy Chau district forest rangers for further investigation and handling according to regulations.
