Bu Bai Slope (also known as Pu Pai) is one of the longest slopes on National Highway 48 connecting National Highway 1A to the Northwestern communes of Nghe An. However, because this slope is long, narrow, and dangerous, traffic through here becomes difficult. This is also one of the reasons why the authorities have not been able to grant a license for sleeper buses to the Northwestern communes of Nghe An.
