Passenger vans transporting rosewood across the border
(Baonghean.vn)- The Environmental Police Department (Nghe An Provincial Police) said it had just detained a passenger car carrying 0.395m3 of illegal timber.
At 7:30 p.m. on July 25, the Environmental Police Department (Nghe An Provincial Police) received a report from the public that a passenger car with a Lao license plate was illegally transporting forest products on National Highway 15, passing through Do Luong town (Do Luong district).

Immediately, the Environmental Police Department of Nghe An Province Police urgently verified and inspected the passenger car UN-2599 driven by Dau Thanh Son (born in 1975), residing in Ngoc Van hamlet, Dien Ngoc commune, Dien Chau district. Through inspection, it was discovered that the car was transporting 0.395 m3 of sawn purple rosewood, a type of wood belonging to group 1.
The car owner is Trinh Xuan Linh (born 1984), residing in Xuan Dinh hamlet, Dien Hong commune, and the driver could not present any documents related to the above wood.
