Passenger buses collided on Noi Bai - Lao Cai highway, 24 people were injured

Two passenger buses traveling in the same direction at high speed crashed into each other on the Noi Bai - Lao Cai highway, passing through Vinh Phuc province, killing two people.

On the afternoon of December 21, on the Noi Bai - Lao Cai highway, passing through Van Quan commune (Lap Thach, Vinh Phuc), two passenger buses from My Dinh bus station to Tuyen Quang had a serious collision.

According to the management unit of the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway, a couple from Tuyen Quang sitting in the front of the passenger bus behind died on the spot, many people were injured.

The collision caused heavy damage to both vehicles. The front vehicle flew out of the highway corridor, the rear vehicle had a crushed front end and a flat tire.

Currently, 18 victims have been taken to Vinh Phuc General Hospital for emergency treatment, and 4 people with minor injuries have been taken to Lap Thach District Medical Center. Sources from the General Hospital said that many people were seriously injured, with head and facial injuries.

"We are mobilizing almost all medical staff, organizing emergency care and classifying the severity of the victims' conditions. If the condition is too serious, they can be transferred to a higher level," said a doctor.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
