(Baonghean.vn) - In Vinh city (Nghe An), there is a street specializing in the production and trading of wheelbarrows on Nguyen Sinh Sac street, located in block 12 and block 14 of Cua Nam ward with nearly 30 production facilities, creating jobs and stable income for hundreds of people.

Many households working in mechanical production and business in Block 14, Cua Nam Ward said: The wheelbarrow manufacturing profession has appeared on Nguyen Sinh Sac Street for more than 20 years now. Previously, mechanical households here mainly produced products such as Kien An carts, manual rice threshing machines, etc., supplying wheelbarrows to the market in districts in the province and neighboring provinces such as Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, and even to Laos.

At peak times, dozens of trucks transport goods to various places for import. Each house has 5-6 workers working continuously, and the goods are sold as soon as they are produced. In recent years, the village has exported these goods to Laos to serve construction projects in that country.

Mr. Nguyen Thien Van in block 14 was the first person to bring the wheelbarrow manufacturing business to this mechanical village. Mr. Van went to Da Nang to buy machinery, equipment, and materials to produce wheelbarrows. Later, Mr. Van's sons followed their father's career to open a wheelbarrow manufacturing facility, and from there, the wheelbarrow manufacturing and trading street in Cua Nam ward was formed as it is today.

Mr. Nguyen Thien Trung, Mr. Van's son, said: "My father has passed away, but the wheel cart manufacturing profession is still maintained and developed by the four of us and other households in this hamlet. A few years ago, this profession was very prosperous. The wheel carts we produced were sold everywhere, from districts in the province to neighboring provinces such as Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, and Quang Binh."

The wheelbarrow is made from materials such as scooter tires, old motorbike bearings, the body and rims are made from old drums, the shafts are made from zinc tubes, the frame is made from iron and steel... Many materials are utilized to reduce the product cost.

A worker, if he works hard every day from cutting, rolling, bending, welding to finishing the product, can only produce 2-3 wheelbarrows. The current selling price is from 290,000 to 400,000 VND/car, depending on the quantity and quality of the materials. After deducting expenses, the worker can earn 300,000 to 400,000 VND per day.

The wheelbarrow street on Nguyen Sinh Sac Street near Duoc Bridge has nearly 30 households specializing in manufacturing and trading wheelbarrows, modified carts, handcarts, garbage carts... Previously, households bought their own raw materials and did the cutting, rolling, bending, welding, painting... to complete the product. However, in recent years, some households have invested in buying machinery and equipment specializing in manufacturing 1-2 parts of the wheelbarrow. Each household produces one part and joins together to assemble, weld, and complete the product.

Wheelbarrow is a small rudimentary vehicle for manual transportation and is often used in construction to move, carry, and transport materials such as cement, bricks, sand, stones, etc. The vehicle is designed with a fairly simple structure, usually with a wheel located on the central axis at the bottom of the vehicle, with two handles and a material trough in the middle and two iron legs for support.

The vehicle is designed for one person to use, pushing materials with two handles behind. The wheelbarrow manufacturing industry not only creates jobs and stable income for hundreds of workers but also helps construction workers and households have a means of transporting materials and fertilizers easily, saving labor.
