Topping the list of 10 majors with the most registered candidates is the business major with over 80,000 registered candidates.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, this year, nearly 635,000 candidates nationwide registered for their first choice to enter universities, of which economics still has the most candidates registering for admission.

Of the more than 635,000 candidates who registered for their first choice to enter universities this year, the 10 groups of majors most chosen by candidates include: business, foreign languages and cultures, teacher training, law, medicine, information technology, mechanical engineering technology, humanities, finance - banking - insurance, and computers.

The number of candidates registering for their first choice in these 10 groups of majors accounts for 50% of the total number of candidates nationwide. Topping the list of 10 majors with the highest number of candidates registering for admission is the business major with over 80,000 candidates registering for their first choice, accounting for 12.6% of the total number of candidates. According to Deputy Minister of Education and Training Bui Van Ga, these statistics show that business majors are still the most popular. This trend has not changed much compared to previous years.

However, in each specific group, there is one major that is chosen by the most candidates. Specifically, in the business group, 45% choose business administration; 83% choose information technology in the information technology group; 33% choose preschool education in the teacher training group. This trend is similar to other majors.

In particular, the general medical field accounts for an overwhelming proportion of the total number of candidates applying for admission to the medical field group with a rate of 98%. From the candidates' choice of majors, it shows that they have chosen their favorite majors and closely followed the labor market.

Deputy Minister Bui Van Ga said: “This year is the first year that candidates can choose their wishes without any limit, but in reality, nationwide statistics show that each student only chooses about 4-5 wishes. Therefore, candidates have chosen their majors with great determination and initiative, not following the majority.

Because students now choose majors that allow them to find jobs after graduation, majors that make it easier to start a business than other majors. After graduation, if they do not work in a business, they can start their own jobs. This is a very good trend and reflects the current labor market very honestly.”
