On the afternoon of November 30, the Provincial People's Committee held a Conference to review 3 years of implementing the Project "Improving State Management Capacity on Food Safety for the 2020 - 2025 period".
Comrade Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial Food Safety Steering Committee chaired the conference. Attending the conference were representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the People's Committees of districts/towns/cities and the People's Committees of communes/wards/towns, members of the Provincial Food Safety Steering Committee and leaders of relevant agencies and units.

The project "Improving the capacity of State management on Food Safety for the period 2020 - 2025" was issued by the People's Committee of Nghe An province in October 2019. During the 3 years of implementing the project, Nghe An has organized and implemented many synchronous activities in food safety management.food safety, thereby achieving many important results. The whole province has inspected and examined 45,676 establishments, of which 41,412 establishments met the standards (90.7%), 4,264 establishments violated (9.3%), and administratively sanctioned 2,579 establishments with a total fine of nearly 7.6 billion VND.
However, state management offood safetyIn the province, there are still many shortcomings and limitations, such as: some food safety steering committees at district and commune levels are not really drastic in leadership, direction and supervision. Organizing the state management apparatus onfood safetystill scattered, not centralized, leading to inadequacies in professional implementation.

Propaganda and education activities on food safety laws still face many difficulties. Inspection, examination and handling of administrative violations in the field of food safety are not regular and not really deterrent enough. Specialized means and equipment for inspection and examination are still lacking. The business and advertising of functional foods that violate the law, especially on social networks, are complicated.
At the conference, representatives of leaders of departments, branches, units and districts, towns and cities raised difficulties and obstacles in food safety management in the area and at the same time made recommendations and proposals to better ensure food safety management in the coming time.

Concluding the conference, comrade Bui Dinh Long clearly stated the key tasks to improve the state management capacity on food safety in the period of 2023 - 2025. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested: The Department of Health shall preside over and coordinate with departments, branches, People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to advise the Provincial People's Committee on the implementation plan of Directive No. 17-CT/TW dated October 21, 2022 of the Secretariat on strengthening food security and safety in the new situation.
Continuing to implement the contents, ensuring the completion of the set targets of the Project "Improving the capacity of state management on food safety in Nghe An province for the period 2020 - 2025, relevant levels, sectors and units need to promote propaganda and dissemination of legal knowledge on food safety.

Strengthen inspection, examination, post-inspection, and supervision of food safety and security work and strictly handle establishments with violations according to the provisions of law; promote mass movements to detect and denounce food safety violations.
Continue to effectively deploy and replicate models of food safety control in all fields; promote the application of information technology and reform administrative procedures in food safety management; strengthen management and rectify food advertising activities, especially functional foods on the internet, especially electronic news sites and social networks.
Also at the conference, the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 7 collectives and 7 individuals who had outstanding achievements in 3 years of implementing the Project "Improving the capacity of state management on food safety in Nghe An province for the period 2020 - 2025"./.
