24 passenger transport vehicles were fined for illegally using Lao license plates

(Baonghean.vn) – This is the recommendation of the Interdisciplinary Inspection Team according to Decision 2607/QD-UBND of Nghe An province after a short period of inspection and handling of passenger transport vehicles with foreign license plates.

This passenger transport vehicle with license plate UN 3196 was inspected at 9:20 a.m. on June 25, 2016. At the time of inspection, the following violations were found: no driver's license; no international transport badge as prescribed.

As for this UN 2468, at the time of inspection, the vehicle's documents did not have a Vietnamese translation and did not have an international transport license as required.

Pursuant to Decision No. 2607/QD-UBND of the Provincial People's Committee on the establishment of an interdisciplinary inspection team to inspect passenger transport activities by domestic cars and cars with foreign license plates in the province, from June 15, 2016 to present, the interdisciplinary inspection team has inspected 27 passenger transport vehicles with foreign license plates, including 24 Lao cars and 2 Cambodian cars.

Most of the passenger transport vehicles with Lao license plates violating regulations were discovered by the interdisciplinary team in the two districts of Dien Chau and Yen Thanh.

Of the 27 vehicles inspected, 24 were found to have violations requiring administrative violations to be recorded. Of these, the delegation recorded the temporary detention of 5 vehicles; proposed the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to issue a decision to fine and force the re-export of 3 vehicles; the total fine for the 24 vehicles is estimated at about 150 million VND.

In response to violations by passenger vehicles with Lao license plates, the interdisciplinary team drew up a report right at the scene.

According to information from the inspection team, in the past, the team mainly conducted inspections in Yen Thanh, Dien Chau, Quynh Luu districts and Vinh city, which are the localities where the number of passenger cars with Lao license plates is concentrated. In the coming time, the team will organize inspections in districts along National Highway 7, National Highway 48 and Nam Can international border gate.
