Xuan Truong started in his first match for Buriram United
The midfielder, born in 1995, played 65 minutes when his team drew 1-1 with Nakhon Ratchasima in a friendly match on February 17.
On the evening of February 17, the reigning Thai League 1 champions played a friendly match with Nakhon Ratchasima to prepare for the new season. This match also marked the 10th anniversary of the club being renamed Buriram United.

Coach Bozidar Bandovic placed Luong Xuan Truong in the starting lineup along with many Thai players. Besides the Vietnamese players, Buriram's starting lineup also included three other foreign players, including striker Modibo Maiga (Mali), center back Andres Tunez (Venezuela) and defender Stephan Palla (Philippines).
Xuan Truong played his usual central midfield role and did well in the first half. He made some sharp passes, including a through ball to Maiga, but the striker failed to capitalise on the opportunity. Buriram took the lead before halftime, thanks to Maiga's free kick.
In the second half, Xuan Truong made a mistake in the home team's goal. His loss of the ball caused his teammate to commit a foul in the penalty area. The Vietnamese midfielder made his debut with Buriram just eight days after arriving in Thailand. This was an opportunity for Xuan Truong to get to know his coach and teammates better, creating conditions for his adaptation process in the new shirt.
On the evening of February 23, Xuan Truong and his teammates will host Chonburi in the opening match of the new Thai League 1 season.
