Touching music night 'Mach nguon vi, giam' honoring 5 talented musicians of Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of May 14, at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace, the Nghe An Association in Hanoi organized a music night to honor five talented musicians of Nghe An called "The source of Vi and Giam".
Attending the program were comrades: Nguyen Sinh Hung - Former Politburo member, former Chairman of the National Assembly; Nguyen Xuan Thang - Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council; Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association.
Also attending the program were comrades: Hero of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Nguyen Quoc Thuoc - Former member of the Party Central Committee, former National Assembly delegate (VIII, IX, X terms), former Commander of Military Region 4; Dr. Le Doan Hop - Former member of the Party Central Committee, former Minister of Information and Communications.

The music night aims to pay tribute to five talented musicians from Nghe An: Nguyen Van Ty, Nguyen An Thuyen, Nguyen Trong Tao, Nguyen Tai Tue and Hong Dang.

Speaking at the performance, Dr. Le Doan Hop - Former Minister of Information and Communications, emotionally shared: The 5 musicians of Lam Giang honored today are all people who have made worthy contributions to the treasure of Vietnamese music; they are the pride of the people of Nghe An. Although they have passed away one by one, the imprint of their lives and immortal musical works, sweet lyrics, melodious and profound notes imbued with the folk songs Vi and Giam still stir forever in the minds of all of us. The music of the musicians has accompanied and flourished with the nation, creating bright milestones in the cultural flow and spiritual life of the people.

“The art night “Mach Nguon Vi, Giam” is a great musical feast imbued with the folk music of Nghe An, delighting fans; it is a night of Vi, Giam folk songs rich in flavor, quintessence, and sweetness like a mother's lullaby, like the cool water of Lam River, like the high peak of Dai Hue Mountain, all of which have the right fragrance and color, blending, resonating, and spreading to satisfy the wishes of the 5 musicians in eternity; bringing the musicians back to their colleagues, the public, and their homeland” - Dr. Le Doan Hop said.
The program “The Source of Vi and Giam” is divided into 3 parts. Part 1 is titled: “Dream of the Country”; Part 2: “Melody of Love” and Part 3: “The Country’s Melody”.
