(Baonghean.vn) - Through the traditional form of writing letters, Nguyen Quy Duong - a student with special circumstances at Thanh Chuong 3 High School (Nghe An) sent his teachers the most sincere words of gratitude. Perhaps that is also the feeling that many students have for their teachers on Vietnam Teachers' Day.

Spiritual gift

In order to express his gratitude to his History teacher, Nguyen Quy Duong expressed his feelings in a touching article titled “To the person who travels back in time”. Since being posted on social networks, this special letter has been well received and welcomed by many people.

Nguyen Quy Duong - author of the letter

Duong confided that he wrote this letter with precious feelings from his heart, the feelings of a student towards his teacher. “This letter is to express my gratitude to you, thank you for giving me interesting lessons, noble life lessons. The words of thanks to the person who taught me are not only from words but also from the heart.”

The letter, nearly 3 A4 pages long, expressed quite fully the range of emotions that Duong wanted to send to his beloved aunt, which were the memories of the first day he met her, the feelings from the lessons she taught, the attraction of History, the personality and caring teachings of the teacher, the regret and trust in tomorrow... All were expressed by Duong with the most sincere and profound feelings.

It is known that Duong majored in block D, but was attracted to History. It was the teacher in charge of the subject who ignited this "unusual" passion in him:“Of the dozen or so subjects in high school, if anyone were to ask me which subject got the most attention from me, it would definitely be your History, teacher! Even though it is not one of my favorite subjects, nor one of my three major subjects, each history class is fascinating because of your teaching style and lectures.”

In this letter, Duong affirmed that the seemingly dry subject of History has provided him with valuable knowledge and ignited in him and other young generations a desire to strive, determination and pride in the traditions of his homeland and country.

Duong wrote:“That the hooves of Genghis Khan’s horses on the Mongolian steppe could have flattened almost the entire world, but stopped before the border of Dai Viet, before the Dong A spirit of the entire nation. That was the Renaissance period in Italy, although it was very far away, those “giants” still made posterity admire. She always wanted us to have both the intelligence and courage to understand that, from there refer to our present life and our future.”

It is also the sense of time.“Miss! The flow of History continues to flow, the flow of life continues, the river where you steer the boat always flows downstream...We can go far away, take off to new lands, you will still stay here to carry many more ferry trips… the chalk lines you wrote on the board of my life will never fade away”.

Closing the letter, Duong wrote with all his love: "People and society honor teachers like her – “those who do the noblest profession under the sun.””,I hope you can contribute more to your ideals, to the cause of educating people, and to the truth of the whole society.i”.

Special circumstances

Reading the letter filled with precious feelings from a student to his teacher, few people know that its author is a student with special circumstances. Nguyen Quy Duong (born in 2003) was born without a father, and his mother and son live alone in a small house in Hamlet 10, Thanh Tien Commune, Thanh Chuong District.

In 2012, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Tuyet - Duong's mother fell seriously ill and passed away when he was in 4th grade. Duong became an orphan at a young age. Pitying his nephew for falling into such a difficult situation, the family of Mr. Nguyen Thien Tao - Duong's uncle took him in and continued to support his education.

Early on, aware of his family's circumstances, Duong always focused on studying and listened to the teachings of his teachers and uncle. After class, Duong worked hard to help his uncle's family raise livestock and produce. Mr. Tao's family had 3 children, a farming family, with difficult economic conditions. He himself suffered from mental illness and had to go to the hospital for treatment many times, so raising 4 children and grandchildren to study at the same time was quite difficult.

We met Duong and were really attracted by his humorous way of talking, his bright and smiling face. Duong said that his uncle had taken care of him since he was little, so he considered his uncle's family as his dearest family.

With a spirit of self-discipline and eagerness to learn, Duong has overcome his special circumstances to study well. From grade 1 to grade 10, he has always achieved the title of excellent student at school level, and for many consecutive years has achieved excellent student at district level in Math, Literature, and English. Especially in grade 9, Duong excellently won first prize in excellent student at district level and second prize in excellent student at provincial level in Literature.

Duong has lived with his uncle's family since his mother passed away.

Duong is currently studying in class 11A and is an enthusiastic and active class monitor. Duong said: “Participating in group activities and taking charge of studying, I not only gain knowledge but also practice many life skills”. When asked about his dream, Duong said: “I will take the entrance exam to Law University or Foreign Trade University”.

Talking about her "favorite" student, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhan, homeroom teacher of class 11A, Thanh Chuong 3 High School, shared: "Duong is a student with good moral character and good at all aspects of study. Although a student with special circumstances, Duong is always optimistic and strives to improve. Hopefully, he will achieve new achievements in his studies...".
