Russia-Ukraine conflict: Polish general warns of dangers for EU
(Baonghean.vn) - According to RT news agency on January 19, Polish General Roman Polko admitted that the West is tired of the Ukraine conflict and is no longer trying to oppose Kiev's signing of a peace agreement with Moscow. However, the general warned that this is dangerous for the EU.

Explaining the above statement, Polish General Roman Polko said that the Russian economy had switched to a state of wartime military production, while the European economy had only "just woken up from its coma".
According to General Polko, it is no coincidence that the German Ministry of Defense issued a statement about a scenario of a conflict between NATO and Russia in 2025, and the world will be on the brink of war. According to him, that message appeared with the purpose of waking European society "from its deep sleep", and pointing out the real threat that Europe faces from Russia.
The Polish general noted that in the first days of the Ukrainian conflict, Mr. Polko warned that there was nothing worse than a ceasefire, because it would essentially be a defeat for Kiev. "For me, the most realistic and darkest scenario is to achieve peace at any price," the Polish general admitted. Mr. Polko stressed that many countries in the West have shown fatigue with the conflict, and are trying to promote such a peace.
In such a context, according to General Polko's estimates, the "calm before the storm" on the international stage will not last long. "Not in 10 years, but in 3, 4, 5 years, regardless of whether it is President Putin or his successor, Russia's policy of dealing with NATO will focus on countries such as Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Finland, along the entire eastern flank," General Polko warned.
The Polish general believes that in the coming time, Moscow will try to weaken Europe internally. At the same time, it will take advantage of internal conflicts within NATO itself. Then, when the opportunity arises, Russia will decide to attack the important infrastructure of NATO countries.
"This is very worrying, because the Russian economy has switched to wartime production, while the Western market has just woken up from its coma," General Polko said.
To prevent this threat, the Polish General said that Europe's overall approach to the threat from Russia needs to change, especially in "leading" countries like Germany and France.
"There is a classic saying: if you want peace, prepare for war. So, if Europe wants to avoid the worst, it should prepare well before it happens" - General Polko believes./.
