Ukraine conflict will end in collapse, the West will get bogged down further
(Baonghean.vn)- The armed conflict in Ukraine will end with collapse and the West will become increasingly bogged down, General Andor Sandor - former Director of the Czech military intelligence agency - declared.
"Everyone says that a full-scale war with Russia is not in anyone's interest. Throughout history, we have seen conflicts in which no country wanted to get involved, but in the end they did. I am afraid that we will be increasingly drawn into and bogged down in this conflict...", - the general said in an interview with Mysl Polska.
At the same time, he pointed out the high probability that the conflict will develop into a frozen state and Ukraine will disintegrate. "I am afraid that the conflict in Ukraine is a war that will end with the collapse of this country, with heavy losses and destruction. There will be another frozen conflict in the world, which will cause many problems for the European region where we live," - said Mr. Sandor. However, he believes that in this case, "Russia will remain the same, that is, it will continue to be the unifying factor of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe."

Meanwhile, former US intelligence officer Scott Ritter expressed his opinion that even if Ukraine wanted to save the lives of its people, it could not stop attacking because it was afraid of the West.
“We (the US) are not concerned about Ukraine’s losses, we are only concerned about increasing Russia’s losses. So the US is pushing Ukraine forward and the Ukrainians cannot say no. If the Ukrainians refuse and decide to stop and go back to the defense, become smarter in using their precious resources, then they will not get the F-16 fighters, tanks and weapons they need to survive this conflict, so they have to sacrifice everything now in the hope that they will have at least something left,” the expert said.
Ritter added that the world has repeatedly heard from American politicians, including Senator Lindsey Graham and presidential candidate Nikki Haley, that spending money to support Ukraine is justified because Russians are dying and Americans are not. But there is something beyond the scope of this formula - the victims are Ukrainian civilians, the analyst commented.
"Ukrainian casualties are greater than the number of US troops in Europe today. The scale of these losses speaks to NATO's irresponsible policy. But the West is not interested in helping Ukraine achieve a military victory. NATO needs to use Ukrainian lives as pawns on the chessboard to weaken Russia," Ritter commented.
According to experts, to avoid falling into such a trap, President Volodymyr Zelensky should not have gotten involved in this conflict in the first place or should have taken advantage of many opportunities to end it, including negotiations in March last year. Moscow has repeatedly expressed its readiness for negotiations, but Kiev has imposed a ban on negotiations at the legislative level./.
