(Baonghean.vn) - Solving employment problems to ensure social security is being raised by all levels of sectors and localities as an urgent issue when the whole society is carrying out safe activities in the new situation.

Currently, besides many workers who have adapted quickly and found suitable jobs, there are many people who do not know where to go to make a living. Meanwhile, there are some "hot" jobs that previously attracted many workers but are now sluggish, such as preschool education and teaching at non-public facilities. Up to now, many non-public teachers have chosen to change careers to make a living. Nghe An Newspaper recorded some opinions of workers and authorities at all levels on the issue of efforts to solve employment in the new situation.

Ms. Tran Thi Le - Nam Dan Town: Choosing the direction of "leaving agriculture but not leaving home"

After many days of struggling in Ho Chi Minh City to avoid the epidemic, my mother and I were able to return to our hometown on a "zero-dong" flight thanks to the connection of the authorities at all levels. When I got here, the first thing I thought about was what I would do to have the conditions to raise three young children while my paternal and maternal families were still poor. After many days of struggling and receiving support from the authorities at all levels, I found a direction for myself and my children while my husband still had to make a living at his old job with many risks at work. I registered for a cooking class taught by the local vocational school, and after finishing the course, I borrowed money to open a small restaurant. Although I found a suitable direction, the road ahead is quite thorny when I still have to pay interest every day, and there are no customers yet, simply because the epidemic is still complicated. But I believe that with determination and the support of the community, I will have a stable job. Through this, I still believe that even in my hometown, there is no shortage of jobs, it is just a matter of whether we actively choose it or not, because once we have chosen, we need to have the right direction such as equipping ourselves with skills, accessing loans to have a stable job.

Ms. Le Thi Minh - Nam Dan Town: Wants to find a suitable job right in her hometown

I have been back to my hometown for two months with two small children and currently do not know where to find a job because my skills are not suitable for the recruitment industries in factories and companies in the area. In Ho Chi Minh City, before the pandemic broke out, I still earned 6-7 million VND per month as a traditional medicine counter staff, but then the company where I worked closed down and I was truly unemployed. I returned to my hometown with the mindset of coming back and then leaving, but now in my hometown I feel the warmth of home and do not want to go anywhere else, I want my children to stay here to have a full education, and I also have less trouble making a living in a foreign land. In the past, the government has also introduced many open directions, friends have also introduced many places but I still have not found a suitable job. I hope that there will be a unit that accepts workers with young children who are breastfeeding and creates employment conditions suitable to their skills. I also hope that the local government will connect with businesses to help me find a suitable workplace and stabilize my life.

Ms. Trinh Thi Huyen - Director of Kazzen International Joint Stock Company: Workers need to approach new jobs before Lunar New Year.

In the past time, we have made efforts to change the direction of connecting jobs with workers and the new job market for repatriated workers. Accordingly, the Company has connected 5,000 - 10,000 job positions in Bac Ninh and some units in the province. According to the needs of the employer, they will sign contracts with time categories and do not necessarily require skilled workers, and will pay monthly or daily wages. Of course, with long-term contracts, workers will receive more incentives. Kaizen is also actively coordinating with localities such as Thanh Chuong, Yen Thanh, Quynh Luu, Nghi Loc, ... to review and synthesize and classify the job needs of workers. However, up to now, the results have not been really positive, each month we only receive about 100 job applications, because most workers are still hesitant with the policies of employers, and partly they are choosing between going or staying. Many workers in many regions still want to stay home to celebrate Tet, however we will try to encourage and promote to workers the benefits of short-term employment at some units during the time before Tet.

In addition, I think that if workers want to increase their income by working abroad, this is the "ideal time" because many foreign markets have opened and need a large number of workers, such as Taiwan, Singapore; European countries... Workers who have gone abroad will have stable jobs. Therefore, if many workers are still hesitant in choosing a job market with good policies, they should consider working abroad.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Hai - Chairman of Nam Dan Town People's Committee: Create the best conditions for repatriated workers to access job opportunities.

During the recent epidemic, the town had up to 200 workers returning to their hometowns to avoid the epidemic and so far about 70 people have returned to their old workplaces. More than half of the remaining workers want to stay in their hometowns to stabilize their lives, but many workers still have not had access to suitable job opportunities. To solve employment for workers, we have actively coordinated with businesses inside and outside the area. In addition, for workers who want to access "outside the factory" jobs right in the locality, they will be trained in suitable occupations and have conditions for loans. Currently, the locality has many workers who have adapted to the new situation when they want to settle down in their hometowns. They choose jobs as construction workers, follow masonry teams, or choose carpentry, making vermicelli and cakes in Quy Chinh Craft Village; or open restaurants...

Kindergarten teacher Nguyen Thi Phuong - Milkway Kindergarten teacher: Finding a new job is easy but unstable, income is uncertain

For many months now, preschool teachers like us have had to find new jobs to make a living. Like me, I came here from Quynh Luu to look for job opportunities as a preschool teacher. Before the pandemic, my children and I could still live quite well thanks to a salary of about 5-7 million, but since the preschool closed, I and hundreds of other colleagues have fallen into a dilemma, unable to leave or stay, not knowing what to do when we return home, and not knowing when the school will reopen to welcome students. So everyone has their own choice, some deliver goods, some help out at canteens, some sell online. I have also gone through many jobs but am now stopping at selling online to cover the extra rent and milk for my children.

We hope that the relevant authorities will soon provide guidance so that non-public schools can resume operations in the new situation.

Mr. Vu Anh Tuan - Chairman of the Association of Non-Public Educational Institutions, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Happy Kid Kindergarten: Not knowing how to create employment opportunities for teachers

At this point, many non-public kindergartens are half-dead because they do not have enough money to "maintain the school" and pay for expenses such as electricity, water, security, and environmental sanitation. Most of us have to pay a large amount of bank interest every month without knowing where to get the income to make up for it. Many kindergarten principals shared that if this situation continues, there is a risk of losing the whole school. That is something that can easily happen, when most non-public educational institutions have invested heavily and have only been in operation for a short time.

The closure of non-public educational institutions also causes teachers to change careers and when we reopen, it will be very difficult to recruit them again. Therefore, the impact after the epidemic on non-public educational institutions in general and non-public teachers in particular is very large. Therefore, we hope that the relevant authorities need to study flexible mechanisms in the new normal period like some other provinces so that non-public schools can resume operations as soon as possible.
