10 outstanding highlights of Tan Ky district in 2016

(Baonghean) - In 2016, the Party committees and authorities at all levels in Tan Ky district closely followed the proposed programs and plans and focused on directing, creating many impressions in the following areas:

1. Directed and successfully organized the election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 term with a voter turnout rate of 97.7%. The District Party Committee and Standing Committee focused on issuing 15 projects, resolutions, and action programs to implement the Resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels; completed 100% of the annual targets and plans; continued to revise and supplement 26 proposed programs.

2. Party committees and authorities from district to grassroots levels have focused on leading and directing the completion of 14/20 set socio-economic targets (4/20 targets exceeded, 10/20 targets achieved).

3. Effectively implement Directive No. 02-CT/HU dated November 3, 2015 of the District Party Committee on "Strengthening the Party's leadership in preventing and combating gambling in Tan Ky district". Thereby, 57 cases were arrested, 211 gamblers were arrested, a total of 121.4 million VND and a number of other exhibits and means of violation were collected.

4. Focus on solving 8 key and prominent issues in 2016 with many remarkable results: Maintain peace among cadres and party members of Song Con Agricultural One Member Co., Ltd. and direct the completion of the conversion according to Decree 118/2014/ND-CP; do not allow illegal construction to continue on the project in Hamlet 14, Tan Huong Commune; consolidate the political system in Gia De Hamlet, Nghia Dung Commune; focus on resolving land disputes at Nghia Hoan Commune Industrial Cluster; organize enforcement and successfully handle the land dispute between Song Con Sugarcane Joint Stock Company and Hoa Cuong private enterprise; direct the clearance of 15 kiosks in front of the District People's Committee and Court; work with districts with administrative boundary disputes...

5. Regarding new rural construction: In 2016, Nghia Thai commune reached the NTM target, bringing the total number of communes meeting NTM criteria in the area to 5 communes; the average of the whole district reached 13.04 criteria/commune, an average increase of 1.18 criteria compared to 2015.

6. Regarding investment promotion in the area, the Provincial People's Committee approved the investment policy and allowed the district to survey and select construction sites for 5 projects; the district organized work with investors (Hai An Cooperative) to invest in a number of projects: Commercial center combined with traditional market; cultural center for organizing events, hotels; rest stops, gas stations, inter-provincial bus stations; urban areas.

7. Directing the construction of 4 schools meeting national standards, bringing the total number of schools meeting national standards to 41, accounting for 58%.

8. Create jobs for 2,300 workers, an increase of 31.2% compared to 2015; the poverty rate decreased to 13.8% (down 1.5%).

9. Total budget revenue in the area is estimated at 45,841 million VND/year, an increase of 17.4% and equal to 100% of the estimate.

10. The economic structure has shifted in a positive direction (reducing agriculture - forestry - fishery, increasing construction industry and services). The average added value per capita is estimated at 21.5 million VND, an increase of 2.3 million VND compared to 2015.
