10 children in Nghe An have mild reactions after receiving Covid-19 vaccine

(Baonghean.vn) - Since the start of the vaccination campaign for children, health authorities have recorded 10 children in Nghe An having mild reactions after vaccination.

On December 11, Mr. Tran Minh Tue - Deputy Director of Nghe An Department of Health said that up to now, Nghe An province has vaccinated more than 3.7 million Covid-19 shots. Of which, 1,427,030 people have been fully vaccinated (accounting for 73% of people aged 18 and over and 43% of Nghe An province's population). The number of people vaccinated with at least 1 shot is 1,923,527 (accounting for 98% of people aged 18 and over and 58% of Nghe An province's population).

For children aged 12-17, 120,371 have been vaccinated so far, accounting for 38% of children in this age group. During post-vaccination monitoring, health authorities recorded 10 children with mild reactions after vaccination.

As of December 11, nearly 75 million people nationwide had been vaccinated against Covid-19, of which 56.4 million had received all the basic doses. At the meeting of the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control on December 10, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested to be even more rapid in meeting vaccine needs and implementing the vaccination campaign. "Go to every alley, knock on every door, check every person to get vaccinated, those who have not been vaccinated must be vaccinated, those who are determined not to be vaccinated must be dealt with by measures according to the provisions of the law, for example, if they do not get vaccinated, they must pay for medical treatment," said the Prime Minister.

The current goal is to strive to complete the second injection for people aged 18 and over by December 15 or December 31 at the latest. Along with that, units strive to complete the third injection by the end of the first quarter of 2022, prioritizing frontline forces, people over 50 years old, and those with underlying diseases. The second injection for children aged 12-17 is expected to be completed in January 2022.

Regarding vaccination for children aged 5-12, the Prime Minister requested urgent reporting, consulting with competent authorities, studying recommendations from international organizations, and referring to experiences from other countries to set vaccination goals and roadmaps, striving to complete in the first quarter of 2022.
