Test results from the National Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene showed that all samples of Vietfoods sausages contained Sodium nitrate 521. |
It is known that previously (April 21), due to doubts about the quality of 2.2 tons of Vietfoods sausages stored in the cold storage of Hong Anh Food Trading Company Limited (at 140C, Lane 351 Linh Nam - Vinh Hung - Hoang Mai District), the Hanoi Market Management Department took samples of 4 types of sausages (including Thai spicy and sour sausages, smoked sausages, German sausages, Franks further) for testing at the National Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene Testing. The 4 samples taken for testing were all sealed, each sample took 2 packages.
All of these sausages were produced at the Vietfoods Food Processing and Trading Establishment (Vietfoods Company). The test results showed that all 4 sausage samples tested contained the banned substance Sodium nitrate 251 with a content of 89 - 100mg/kg. This is a substance banned by the Ministry of Health from being used in meat foods because if Vietfoods sausages containing this banned substance are grilled or fried at high temperatures, this substance will be transformed and become a cause of cancer....

Several samples of sausages containing banned substances were seized. |
According to Mr. Le Viet Phuong - Deputy Captain of Market Management Team No. 14, Hanoi Market Management Department: "In Hanoi, there are two sausage businesses belonging to Vietfoods Trading and Processing Establishment (Vietfoods Company). After receiving the test results of this type of sausage containing prohibited substances, we have temporarily detained all the sausages in the two warehouses above. In addition, in the coming time, Hanoi Market Management Department will verify and inspect the types of sausages being sold on the market. If sausage samples are found to be of quality violation, we will confiscate and handle related people according to the provisions of law".
What makes people extremely confused is that many parents still feed their children this product every day, because many children really like Vietfoods sausages. It is worth mentioning that Vietfoods products were once in the top 100 most trusted brands in 2014./.
