12 months in prison for a man who specializes in stealing property from his neighbors
(Baonghean.vn) - In the span of more than 1 month, Lang Van Nga committed 2 thefts in which the victims were all from the same commune as Nga.
On March 27, Nghia Dan District People's Court held a trial for defendant Lang Van Nga (born in 1998), with permanent residence in Nghia Mai commune, Nghia Dan district, for the crime of property theft.
In the span of more than 1 month, Lang Van Nga committed 2 thefts.

The first incident occurred at around 10 p.m. on November 16, 2018. At that time, Lang Van Nga was walking in Hamlet 11, Nghia Mai Commune when she discovered that Ms. Ha Thi Chien's kitchen door was not closed, so Nga went into the kitchen and into the bedroom. Seeing Ms. Chien sleeping, Nga took 2 mobile phones from the end of the bed (1 Iphone 6plus and 1 OPPO 5).
The next day, Nga sold the OPPO 5 mobile phone to Mr. Le Van Dung - owner of Dung Dieu mobile phone repair and trading store for 700,000 VND. Then, Mr. Dung sold it to a stranger. Nga kept the iPhone 6plus for her own use. During the investigation, the agency confiscated it and returned it to Ms. Ha Thi Chien.
The second time, at around 9:00 a.m. on December 18, 2018, Lang Van Nga rode with Lo Van Hung in Hamlet 11, Nghia Mai Commune, Nghia Dan District to attend a wedding at a friend's house in Hamlet 4B, Nghia Mai Commune, Nghia Dan District. Because he was drunk, Lang Van Nga went into the wedding house to sleep. At around 6:00 p.m. the same day, Nga woke up and saw that everyone had left, so she walked home.
After walking for about 30 minutes, Nga saw a Honda motorbike with license plate 37G1 - 556.37 parked in the yard of Mr. Cao Khac Thu's house (next to the road in hamlet 4B, Nghia Mai commune, Nghia Dan district). Seeing that the motorbike was unlocked and no one was watching, Nga had the idea of taking the motorbike to go home.
Seeing that the car was still unlocked but there was no key in the ignition, Nga pushed the car out onto the street, started the engine, and went to Thanh's house in Hamlet 11, Nghia Mai Commune, Nghia Dan District to play. There, Nga saw Thanh and Lo Van Hung drinking together, so she went in to drink with them.
Upon receiving the report of the stolen vehicle, along with the process of collecting documents and evidence, at 8:30 p.m. on December 18, the investigation agency of Nghia Dan District Police detained Lang Van Nga in an emergency for theft of property and seized the motorbike that Lang Van Nga had stolen from Mr. Cao Khac Thu.
During the investigation, the investigation agency returned the car to Mr. Cao Khac Thu. The total value of the two thefts that Lang Van Nga committed was 14,700,000 VND.
At the trial, considering that defendant Lang Van Nga had honestly confessed his guilt, the People's Court of Nghia Dan district sentenced Lang Van Nga to 12 months in prison.
