16 years in prison for former officer who defrauded job applicants out of 2.7 billion VND
Bui Truong Lam received 16 years in prison for fraud and property appropriation.
According to the indictment, in 2012, Bui Truong Lam worked at the Logistics Department of the Dak Lak Provincial Military Command.

From 2014 to 2016, knowing that many people wanted to apply for their children to work in state agencies, Lam had the idea of defrauding and appropriating property.
Lam spread the news to everyone that he had wide connections and could get some people's children jobs in units under the Dak Lak Provincial Military Command.
After receiving 2.7 billion VND from 17 people in Dak Lak province, Lam could not find a job for anyone but spent the money for personal use.
