How are the 19 deputy ministers rotated by the Central Committee now?

Of the 19 deputy ministers and equivalents transferred by the Central Committee to localities, 9 have so far been admitted to the 12th Central Committee, some as provincial party secretaries, some as ministers.

In March 2014, the Politburo transferred and mobilized 44 Central officials, including 19 deputy ministers and equivalent, to localities to prepare personnel for leadership of local Party committees, agencies and units at the Central level for the 2015-2020 term. So far, what are these 19 officials doing and where are they?

1- Mr.Nguyen Thanh Nghi, alternate member of the 11th Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Construction was transferred to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee. After that, he was elected by the Provincial Party Executive Committee conference as Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee for the 2015-2020 term.

At the National Party Congress in January 2016, Mr. Nghi was elected to the 12th Party Central Committee and was elected to the National Assembly later.

2- Mr.Son Minh Thang, Vice Chairman of the Ethnic Committee, member of the 11th Central Committee, was transferred by the Central Committee to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee, term 2010 - 2015.

At the National Party Congress in January 2016, he was elected as a member of the 12th Central Committee. In May 2016, he was assigned by the Politburo to be the Standing Deputy Head of the Southwest Steering Committee until now.

3- Mr. Le Hong Quang, Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court was transferred by the Central Committee to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Tien Giang Provincial Party Committee. After that, he was elected by the Provincial Party Congress for the 2015-2020 term as Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and at the National Party Congress was elected to the 12th Central Committee.

Last June, Mr. Quang was appointed to the position of Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court.

4- Mr.Phan Van Mai, the Standing Secretary of the Central Youth Union was transferred to the position of Deputy Secretary of the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee. At the Provincial Party Congress in November 2015, he was elected as the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and was then elected by the National Party Congress to the 12th Central Executive Committee.

5- Mrs.Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, was transferred to the position of Deputy Secretary of the Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee. At the National Party Congress, she was elected to the 12th Central Committee and then elected to the 14th National Assembly.

She is currently the President of the Vietnam Women's Union for the 2017-2022 term.

6- Mr. Le Minh Khai, Deputy State Auditor General was transferred to the position of Deputy Secretary of the Bac Lieu Provincial Party Committee. He was elected to the position of Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee at the Provincial Party Congress in October 2015. At the National Party Congress, he was elected to the 12th Central Executive Committee. He was then elected to the 14th National Assembly and became Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Bac Lieu Province.

7- Mr. Tran Van Son, Deputy Minister of Construction was transferred to the position of Deputy Secretary of Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee. Later, the Provincial Party Congress elected him as Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee. He became a member of the 12th Central Committee, was elected to the 14th National Assembly and became Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Dien Bien Province.

8- Mr. Nguyen Khac Dinh, Deputy Head of the Government Office was on the list of candidates to be transferred to be Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, but later, he was withdrawn and continued to stay as Deputy Head of the Government Office.

At the National Party Congress, Mr. Dinh was elected to the Central Executive Committee. He was then elected to the 14th National Assembly and was elected Chairman of the National Assembly's Law Committee.

9- Mr. Le Thanh Long, Deputy Minister of Justice was transferred to be Deputy Secretary of Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee until September 2015. In October 2015, the Prime Minister decided to transfer and appoint him as Deputy Minister of Justice. He was elected by the National Party Congress to the 12th Central Committee.

On April 9, 2016, the National Assembly held a secret ballot to elect 21 key government positions and Mr. Long became Minister of Justice.

10- Mr. Nguyen Huu Tu, Deputy Chief of the Party Central Office was transferred by the Central Committee to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee. At the Provincial Party Congress for the 2015-2020 term in October 2015, he was re-elected to the position of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee until now.

11- Mrs. Nguyen Thi Xuan Thu, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development was transferred to the position of Deputy Secretary of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee. She was then mobilized, appointed and recommended by the Secretariat to be elected as President of the Vietnam Red Cross Society for the 2012-2017 term.

12- Mr. Le Quang Huy, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Science, Technology and Environment, was transferred to the position of Deputy Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee. At the Provincial Party Congress in October 2015, Mr. Huy was re-elected to the position of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee until now.

13- Mr. Dang The Vinh, Deputy Head of the Economic Committee of the National Assembly was transferred to work as Deputy Secretary of the Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee. He was then re-elected to this position and was elected to the 14th National Assembly.

14- Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Inspector General of the Government was transferred to be Deputy Secretary of the Lang Son Provincial Party Committee. In October 2015, the Prime Minister decided to temporarily transfer and appoint him to the position of Deputy Inspector General of the Government until now.

15- Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hiep, Vice Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee, was transferred to be Deputy Secretary of the Bac Kan Provincial Party Committee. He has held the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary until now.

16- Mr. Pham Gia Tuc, Vice President of VCCI was transferred to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of Can Tho City Party Committee, then re-elected and held this position until now.

17- Mrs. Nguyen Thi Ha, Secretary of the Central Youth Union was transferred to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee. After that, she was re-elected to the Party Executive Committee, continuing to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee until now.

18- Mr. Duong Van An, the Secretary of the Central Youth Union was transferred to the position of Deputy Secretary of the Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee. After that, the Provincial Party Congress for the 2015-2020 term elected him to continue holding the position of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee until now.

19- In this rotation, there is Mr.Le Hong Son, Deputy Minister of Justice was introduced by the Central Committee to hold the position of Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee. Currently, Mr. Son still holds this position.

In addition, some Central officials who were transferred during this period were elected as members of the 12th Central Committee, such as Major General Tran Quoc To, currently Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang, General Director of the Vietnam Chemical Group, was transferred to the position of Deputy Secretary of the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee. In April 2016, he was assigned by the Politburo to stop holding the position of Deputy Secretary of the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee to hold the position of Secretary of the Ha Nam Provincial Party Committee and is currently Secretary of the Ha Nam Provincial Party Committee.
