2.1 tons of tapioca pearls, fried bananas, dirty chicken feet ready to enter fast food restaurants

(Baonghean.vn)- The environmental police force of Vinh City police discovered 2.1 tons of dirty food, expired, and of unknown origin in a warehouse. It is known that these ingredients are used to sell to sweet soup shops in Vinh City.

On the afternoon of August 1, 2017, the Environmental Police Team of Vinh City Police arrested a case of trading in dirty food of unknown origin.

During the inspection of a warehouse in Cong Hoa block, Vinh Tan ward, Vinh city, owned by Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh (born in 1975), residing in block 12, Doi Cung ward, Vinh city.

The Vinh City Environmental Police discovered 2.1 tons of dirty food, expired, and of unknown origin in the warehouse. Among them were 900 kg of black moldy tapioca pearls for making sweet soup, 500 kg of unlabeled tapioca pearls with no origin or expiry date; 2.7 tons of rotten and smelly dried bananas; 60 kg of dried shredded cotton, 75 kg of sugar, 40 kg of powdered milk without labels or expiry dates; 45 kg of frozen chicken legs and wings of unknown origin.

In addition, there were 80 liters of acetic acid and 53.6 kg of industrial bleaching powder produced in China.

Through initial investigation, Ms. Thanh confessed that all of these ingredients were used to sell to sweet soup shops in Vinh City. Currently, Vinh City Police have made a record to confiscate all of the above dirty food to handle according to the law.

It is known that in March 2016, Nguyen Thi Thanh was administratively fined by the environmental police of Vinh city for trading in goods of unknown origin and not ensuring food safety and hygiene./.
