213 projects participated in the Provincial Science and Technology Competition for high school students
(Baonghean.vn) - The contest is a useful playground to encourage the spirit of enthusiasm for learning, scientific research, and creativity of high school students across the province, opening up a new direction in education.
On the morning of January 16, at Ha Huy Tap High School, the Department of Education and Training held the opening ceremony of the provincial Science and Technology Competition for high school students for the 2023-2024 school year.
This is the 12th contest.Science and technologyThe provincial level was held with the participation of 422 students with 213 projects. Of which, 132 projects were from 216 high school students from 69 high schools across the province and 81 projects were from 161 middle school students from 21 departments of education and training.

Projects focus on the following areas: System software; Embedded robotic systems and intelligent machines; Materials science; Energy: Physics; Mechanical engineering; Chemistry; Biochemistry; Plant science; Environmental engineering; Biomedical and health sciences; Computational biology and Bio-Informatics; Microbiology; Social and behavioral sciences.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Vo Van Mai - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training congratulated more than 400 students with all their passion and efforts to bring many meaningful projects to the contest. This year, aiming to create the most favorable conditions, objectively and accurately evaluate the contest products, the contest has many new features in the organization such as grading the presentation on PDF instead of hard copy as before, encouraging authors to present on soft copy for presentation and promotion.
During the organization and implementation process, the organizing committee paid attention to the composition of the jury and evaluation, ensuring that each field in which students participated in the competition had at least one expert.

Specifically, to prepare for this contest, the Organizing Committee has mobilized 53 judges to directly judge the contest. Of these, 15 are scientists from universities and colleges such as Vinh University, Vinh Technical Pedagogical University, Vinh Medical University and Vinh Pedagogical College. In addition, professional management staff of the department, junior high school and high school teachers with capacity and experience in guiding students in scientific research, who have guided students to win high prizes in provincial and national competitions for excellent students, are also invited to be judges.
The leaders of the Department of Education and Training also affirmed that the Science and Technology Competition is a very meaningful activity in the current period, when the whole industry is promoting innovation in teaching methods and forms; innovating forms and methods of assessing learning outcomes to contribute to developing learners' capacity and qualities.
Therefore, during the competition, the organizers hope that students need to be confident and calm to perform well in their competition.

The purpose of the contest is to encourage and promote the passion for scientific research among students. Through this activity, it also aims to form the most core competencies of students.

Over many years of implementation, the contest has become a useful playground to encourage the spirit of enthusiasm for learning, scientific research, and creativity of high school students across the province, opening up a new direction in education.
The implementation of the contest also contributes to promoting teaching and learning associated with practice, implementing STEM education associated with scientific and technical research, and project-based teaching.
At the same time, the activity also has the meaning of promoting teachers to self-train, improve their professional capacity and teaching quality in high schools, contributing to the effective implementation of the 2018 General Education Program.
