3 policies beneficial for civil servants and public employees from July 1
Increasing the basic salary to 90,000 VND/month, giving priority to the auditing industry, and supporting relatives accompanying officials working abroad are policies that take effect from July 1.
From July 1, a number of new policies beneficial to officials, civil servants, public employees and workers will officially take effect.
Increase basic salary to 90,000 VND/month
This content is stipulated in Decree 72/2018 of the Government and Circular 06/2018/TT-BNV of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Accordingly, from July 1, the basic salary will increase from VND 1,300,000 to VND 1,390,000/month.
Cadres, civil servants, public employees, people receiving salaries, allowances and employees working in agencies, organizations, public service units of the Party, State, socio-political organizations and associations receiving state budget support for operating expenses at central, provincial, district, commune levels, special administrative-economic units and armed forces are beneficiaries.

The new basic salary will be used as the basis for calculating allowances and implementing other regimes according to the provisions of law; calculating operating expenses and living expenses according to the provisions of law; calculating deductions and regimes according to the basic salary. The social insurance and health insurance contribution levels will also change according to the new basic salary.
Priority regime for civil servants in the auditing industry
Also effective from July 1, Decree 66/2018 of the Government on preferential treatment for cadres, civil servants, public employees and employees of the State Audit (SA) and applied from the 2017 budget year.
According to regulations, every year, the State Audit Office is allowed to deduct 5% of the amount discovered and recommended by the State Audit Office according to regulations to spend on incentives and rewards for cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers of the State Audit Office.
The amount includes increased State budget revenue from taxes, fees, and charges; amounts spent in violation of regulations that have been returned; amounts spent in violation of regulations that have been reduced by competent authorities; amounts allocated in excess of the norm or from incorrect sources that have been discovered and recommended by the State Audit Office and have been recovered by competent authorities, etc.

The expenditure level does not exceed 0.8 times the salary level prescribed by the State, including: Salary scale, position; position allowances, allowances beyond the framework, incentives according to profession... After paying bonuses, the remaining funds are used to invest in facilities and enhance the operational capacity of the industry.
Support relatives accompanying officials working abroad
The amended Law on Representative Agencies of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Abroad, effective from July 1, stipulates: Supplementing support regimes for members, spouses and minor children accompanying members of representative agencies of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam abroad.
The regulation also clearly states that partial support for tuition fees and medical insurance costs in the host country will be provided for minor children accompanying members of representative agencies.
At the same time, ensure travel expenses for members of representative agencies and spouses of members of representative agencies sent on business trips when the member's parents; parents-in-law; spouse; or children pass away.
