300 fishing boat owners trained on protecting sea and island sovereignty
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 24, in Quynh Di ward, the Steering Committee for the East Sea - Islands of Nghe An province coordinated with the People's Committee of Hoang Mai town to organize a training conference to improve legal knowledge on protecting sovereignty over seas and islands in 2018.
The training was attended by more than 300 owners of fishing vessels of 95 CV or more from coastal communes and wards of Quynh Phuong, Quynh Di, and Quynh Lap.

During the session, the fishing vessel owners received the following contents: Information on the situation in the East Sea; Providing the communication system of the Vietnam Coastal Information Station; How to call and listen to emergency maritime safety information; Ensuring security in the maritime border area; Documents regulating residence and activities in the maritime border area; Preventing the use of explosives and illegal exploitation of aquatic products; How to handle some risky situations at sea; Management of fishing vessel registration and inspection, policies to support fishermen...

Through training, the awareness of compliance of fishing vessel owners in fishing activities at sea as well as awareness of protecting the sovereignty of the country's sea and island borders, constantly going offshore, sticking to the sea, and developing the economy is raised.
