4,600 roofing sheets to support people in Tuong Duong and Ky Son who suffered damage from tornadoes
(Baonghean.vn) - To support people in Ky Son and Tuong Duong districts (Nghe An) who suffered damage due to storms and tornadoes to stabilize their lives, the Vietnam Roofing Association directly transported 4,600 fibro-cement roofing sheets to the villages to give to the affected families.

On April 9 and 10, 2016, tornadoes accompanied by hail suddenly occurred, causing serious consequences in My Ly commune, Ky Son district and Nhon Mai, Tam Hop, Luu Kien, Mai Son communes, Tuong Duong district. According to initial statistics, tornadoes caused 60 houses and schools to have their roofs blown off, were severely damaged and 4 people were injured.
Faced with the damage to the people, the Vietnam Roofing Association has mobilized its member units to join hands to help people, thereby donating more than 4,600 fiber cement roofing sheets. At the same time, it mobilized vehicles to transport products directly from the factory to the locality to give to people in affected communes, promptly overcoming the consequences and stabilizing their lives.

Ky Son and Tuong Duong are also two of the three poor districts in Nghe An in category 30a. The two districts often suffer damage from natural disasters. On this occasion, in addition to 60 households damaged by storms, the Vietnam Roofing Association also supported fibro-cement roofing sheets for 32 poor households living in makeshift thatched houses and 19 households needing to relocate to new housing.
