The doctor who has worked in Vietnam for 12 years shared,It is common to see families taking their children out for evening walks, walking down the street, watching movies, going to cafes or even bars. Many school-age children now have to participate in extracurricular activities, and the time to complete homework in the evening has become longer.
The problem is exacerbated by the fact that schools in Vietnam start as early as 6:30 a.m. This means that children are highly energy-depleted at both the start and end of the day. Most Vietnamese teenagers and children sleep less than 6 hours a night, which is shorter than the standard sleep for children.8-10 hours a day.
According to Dr. Johnathan, lack of sleep leads to a series of serious consequences such as decreased cognitive ability, causing problems with memory, motor function, depression, behavior and psychological disorders as well as the safety of children.
Parents need to build long-term discipline habits to help children get enough sleep.Children should be instructed to have a suitable and fixed sleep time so that they can naturally establish the habit of going to bed and waking up on time. Do not keep technological devices in the bedroom such as televisions, computers, tablets, phones... Minimize drinks containing caffeine.
