5 years discovered 44 civil servants and public employees violated drug-related laws
(Baonghean.vn) - In the past 5 years, the Party committees, authorities and functional forces in Nghe An have discovered, fought, handled and destroyed many drug dens, gangs and drug trafficking, storage, trading and use lines.

According to the preliminary report on 5 years of implementing Directive 13-CT/TU of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee on "Continuing to strengthen leadership and direction of drug prevention and control work in the new situation", it is said that in the past 5 years (2013-2018), the authorities discovered and arrested 5,283 cases/6,561 drug-related criminals, seized 279 kg of heroin, 289,278 pills and 6.3 kg of synthetic drugs, 137.96 kg of crystal meth, 58.3 kg of opium, 298.8 kg of marijuana and many weapons, money, assets, and other related evidence; organized many raids and raids on drug-related criminals, destroyed 209 locations, 1,098 retail points; Investigated 4,605 cases/5,412 defendants for drug crimes, prosecuted 4,293 cases/4,961 defendants, tried 4,175/4,818 defendants (of which, 38 defendants were sentenced to death, 60 defendants were sentenced to life in prison, and 225 defendants were sentenced to prison terms of 15 to 20 years).

In 5 years, 44 party members, civil servants and public employees were discovered and handled for drug-related violations. Of these, 41 were expelled from the Party, 2 were reprimanded, 1 was suspended from activities; administrative handling included: 2 were dismissed from office, 6 were forced to quit their jobs.
Authorities in Nghe An have coordinated to organize many major projects to dismantle drug trafficking and transportation networks, arrest and handle many high-ranking subjects with many criminal records related to drugs; organized 872 mobile trials of drug-related cases, especially in remote communes, areas with ethnic minorities, thereby strengthening education work, raising awareness among people about the dangers of drugs, contributing to crime prevention.
