Farmers in many localities in Nghe An have formed vegetable growing areas with high productivity and quality. The core issue is to closely connect businesses and people to ensure sustainable production and consumption in a clean and highly economically efficient direction.

Accordingly, Nghe An province assigned functional sectors and localities to strengthen prevention and decisive handling of the circulation, trade, use of banned substances, and abuse of antibiotics in livestock, aquaculture, preservation and processing of aquatic products. Significantly reduce violations of pesticide residues, antibiotics, preservatives, and additives in products under the management of the agriculture and rural development sector; build an agricultural product chain that ensures food safety, creating trust for consumers of agricultural, forestry and aquatic products.

The Provincial People's Committee set a target of reducing by 10% the residue of pesticides in vegetables, tubers, and fruits exceeding the threshold; the residue of chemicals and antibiotics in livestock, poultry, and aquaculture meat products; and microbiological contamination in livestock and poultry meat compared to 2015. The rate of agricultural, forestry, and fishery production and trading establishments inspected to meet food safety requirements increased by 10% compared to 2015.

More than 50% of small-scale production establishments sign a commitment to ensure food safety production according to Circular 51/TT-BNNPTNT.

The province will build models for production and business of agricultural, forestry and fishery products that ensure food safety, applying advanced quality management systems such as: VietGAP, VietGAPHP, GMP, GHP, HACCP, ISO 2200... From there, all levels and sectors will confirm safe products for agricultural, forestry and fishery food supply chains; promote the introduction of certified safe products that ensure food safety.
